Ever since its foundation in 1908, Biola University has been offering biblically-centered education, comprehensive spiritual development, and all-around vocational preparation within a unique academic community, where all professors, administrative staff, and students are practicing Christians. In this article, we will be looking at the acceptance rate at Biola University.

The prestigious U.S. News & World Report has recognized Biola as one of the top 10 universities in the USA for theological studies in Christianity. The overall national ranking of this school is 157th place. Its main campus in La Mirada, California, spreads on just under one hundred acres.

Biola University has got nine different schools offering over 150 graduate and undergraduate programs. The university currently has six thousand students, pursuing their degrees full-time, as well as on online and distance-learning programs.

This school has a strong religious affiliation with Christianity, which poses some questions about its diversity. The Biola University’s academic leadership have tried to answer them in their “Unity Amidst Diversity: Theological Statement on Diversity”, but the provided answers sound a bit vague, to me at least. The university appears to be reserved for Christian students alone, as each student must be an evangelical believer in the Christian faith.

Regardless of the major, they have chosen all undergraduate students who are required to take thirty units of Bible and theology classes. This initial training gives them the theological grounding that they will need to continue their studies.

For devoted young Christians, Biola is one of the best places in the U.S. to pursue ministerial training at. Its current student/faculty ratio is 17:1, which means that each student receives enough attention from their professors and tutors, and can, therefore, make faster progress in their chosen field of study.

Applying to Biola is not a decision to be made with a light head. Before you apply, we strongly recommend that you go through the section “Undergraduate Student Handbook & Guide to University Policies” on their official website. There, you can find useful information regarding the moral norms and code of conduct on campus, covering forms of entertainment such as TV, video games, dancing, etc.

Studying at Biola University isn’t cheap – the most recent total cost of attendance for undergraduate students stands at $53,000 a year. About 70% of all newly-admitted students qualify for some sort of financial support. At present, the average amount of the grant is about $15,600 a year.

The Acceptance Rate at Biola University

Biola is a moderately selective university with an average GPA of 3.30. For those planning to apply with SAT, the score that secures an admission is about 1,200. If ACT is your choice of admission test, your score should be around 24. The current acceptance rate at Biola University is 70%.

The application process is in five steps. First, the candidate fills in an online admission application. Then, they are required to transfer the $45 application fee, non-refundable. After that, each candidate should write an essay, where they should include their personal statement of faith. Then, the candidate is asked to provide their high school transcript. Finally, they should submit their SAT or ACT scores. The application deadline is rolling.
