Ukraine is the second-largest country in Europe, behind Russia, and it is located in the Eastern part of the continent. 1. Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University

Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University is one of the most established and prestigious universities in Ukraine. It is located in the city of Lugansk, which was one of the main places for the Crimea conflict throughout 2014. This forced the university to reduce tuition fees, and despite the number of students being significantly lower than they were before the conflict, the university remains one of the leading universities in the region.

2. Uzhhorod National University

That, along with the very low tuition fees and living costs compared to other places and universities in Europe, makes KNU a hotspot for international students. The fact that it is located in the nation’s capital is also another big plus.

7. National Technical University of Ukraine

The final candidate on our list of cheapest universities in Ukraine for international students is the National Technical University of Ukraine. NTUU KPI is a major polytechnical institution based in Kyiv. There are currently around 400 international students, out of more than 35.000 total students. International students live in close proximity with the local students, allowing them to easily get connected and adjust to life in a new country.

The university also offers the chance to study in English, while learning Ukrainian on the side. Upon graduation, students equip themselves with a diploma that is recognized in the European Union and beyond. Full-time students take at least 5 years and 6 months to graduate and have a choice between 68 different majors across the 3 branches of the university.

What Are the Requirements for Studying in Ukraine?

For international candidates to study in Ukraine, they need to provide a copy of their passport and secondary education diploma. They also need to provide proof that they have sufficient knowledge of the subject that they wish to study. Once accepted, they also need to go through the process of obtaining a visa.

Can You Study in Ukraine in English?

Like almost all countries in Europe, there are a handful of programs in Ukraine that are being taught in English. Furthermore, TOEFL and IELTS tests are usually not required to enroll in an English-taught program. There are English programs in nearly all major universities. For example, there is the Business Administration bachelor’s degree offered by Concordia University.
