1. University of Prince Edward Island

The University of Prince Edward Island is located in Charlottetown. Students and parents can easily make fun day trips out of a visit to famous landmarks like Victoria Park or St. Dunstan’s Basilica Cathedral. While Charlottetown has its own draws, the university holds roughly 70 exchange agreements in 27 countries, meaning that students at this university are encouraged to travel and study abroad. Students at UPEI also have access to a phenomenal career center which helps students develop a realistic action plan with achievable career goals. Students can pursue several unique paths at this cheap university in Prince Edward Island including sustainable design engineering and veterinary medicine. Graduate students can even pursue a Master of Arts in Island Studies.  The small university size means that the university has the capacity to cater specifically to student needs. Lastly, international students make up a large portion of the UPEI student body. About a fourth of the population is comprised of international students.

 

2. Holland College

Holland College is a community college on Prince Edward Island in the college-town of Charlottetown. The College boasts high employment of 96%. High school students interested in studying at Holland College should look into their “Transitions” Program which offers several “Rotations.” Rotations are facilitated paths that allow high school students to explore potential college programs of interest before committing to one as college students. Students who complete the program can actually receive high school credit as well as preferred status come admissions time. Students interested in sports will be glad to know that the college offers basketball, cheer, cross country, dance, and volleyball for both men and women as well as curing and hockey for women and baseball and football for men. Students with a fondness for theater will be pleased with the college’s Performance Hall which is considered to be one of Prince Edward Island’s most historical venues. All in all, Holland College has something to offer everyone.

 

3. Maritime Christian College

The Maritime Christian College is a ministry program in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Founded in 1960, the college now offers nine unique programs for vocational and volunteer ministry work. At this cheap university in Prince Edward Island, International students are welcome and all students are encouraged to pursue volunteer and extracurricular activities that contribute to serving the Church. The college is also committed to helping its students graduate with little-to-no debt! Perhaps unsurprisingly, the primary textbook of this college is the Bible. Students are free to live on campus, and the college often extends residence to students outside of Maritime Christian College. Students will often encounter college students from other universities on the campus and MCC students are guaranteed special access to the facilities at the University of Prince Edward Island.

 

4. Collège de l’Île

College de l’Île has two campuses, one in Charlottetown and one in Wellington. Much like Canada, the college celebrates diversity and is very welcoming toward international students. The college also encourages students to learn both French and English to aid in both their studies as well as their experience in bilingual Canada. The college offers several programs entirely in French, which can help interested students with their speaking skills. The college offers career programs for Bilingual Administration Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, Practical Nurses, Resident Care Workers, Human Services, and Youth Work. While the college offers basic education, it also offers a part-time track and a customized training track for students to personalize their path. Students also have the opportunity for several financial scholarships that help make the cost of college more affordable for eligible students.
