Applying to universities can be challenging. In addition to planning how to fund their studies, prospective students may need to budget for application fees. These charges can create an additional barrier, especially for students applying to several institutions.

Application fees vary by institution and program. For example, Stanford Graduate Admissions currently charges a nonrefundable $125 application fee. Applying to multiple universities can therefore create significant upfront costs.

Some universities and application platforms offer fee waivers for eligible applicants. Eligibility requirements and procedures vary, so students should review the current policy before applying.

Other institutions offer no-fee application routes. A free online application should not be assumed, because policies can vary by applicant type, program, and application method. This article links to country-specific guides, but students should confirm the latest policy on each university’s official admissions page before submitting an application.

Charles Darwin University says there is no fee when applying online. The University of Notre Dame Australia says direct applications from international students have no fee. The University of Wollongong says direct applications have no fee, while UAC applications carry fees. 1 University in Canada with No Application Fee

The linked Canada guide discusses Booth University College. Booth UC states that Canadian applicants can apply without an application fee, while international undergraduate applicants must pay a nonrefundable CAD 150 application fee. Review Canadian universities with no application fees and confirm the applicant category that applies to you.

2 Universities in China with No Application Fees

The linked guide discusses two institutions in China. However, applicants should confirm current fees directly with each university. The current BNBU/UIC FAQ refers to the payment of an application fee before an application is acknowledged, so a no-fee route should not be assumed. Review Chinese universities with no application fees and check the official admissions instructions for your program.

I am in the 5th Semester studying for my graduation in Business Administration from the
National University of Modern Language (NUML) in Hyderabad, Pakistan. Previously I
have 12 years high school studies where all subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology ,
Mathematics and English literature were all thought in English language.
My motivation is to study in your school of learning as I have a decided to move back to
Sweden and study for my BA in Business administration and Economics for graduation
in your school from spring of 2024 as living here in Pakistan as it has become quite
difficult to continue and start my career in Pakistan being a female to study either BA in
Economics or BBA in business Management.
I am a neutralized Swedish citizen since 2007 and my father is also Swedish national.
I would like to enquire if I would be asked to pay the tuition fee?. I shall be sending my
papers for your consideration in order to get admission in your institute. I had always
wanted to study in your famous institute of high reputation which can help me in
building my future career in my life. And as I am going to stay in Europe especially in one
of the Scandinavian country, so I need to have their educational background from one of
    these countries.

Hi Alisha, first of all, we are not an institute, and we do not give any admission to anyone since we are not an academic institution. Also, this post is about universities having no application fee, and not universities without tuition fees. If you do study in Scandinavia, tuition is free for EU students studying at public universities in Finland, Norway, and Sweden, while non-EU international students have to pay tuition fees. However, if you are going to do bachelor’s again, you probably do need to speak their language, while Master’s, they have English-taught options. Hope that helps!
