Hi. Do I need to graduate high school to apply to the university for the fall semester? I will graduate in May 2024 and I want to study in the fall semester, but the application process starts in March and they require a high school diploma.
No, you can still fill the application and submit your diploma after you graduate. You can talk to Sungkyunkwan University admissions about it, but there will be many students like you.
If I have graduated from GED and got 5/6 Topik Level, can I get admission and fully funded scholarship in Korea’s private University?
I think that you will get some good fully funded scholarships in Korea with TOPIK 5, including Samsung Global Sungkyun Scholarship. There are other scholarships in Korea and you can find them in best Korean scholarships article and our scholarship database.
In my country, we only graduate in January. Is it still possible to apply for the scholarship after the deadline?
No, it is not possible to apply for the scholarship after the deadline. You can still apply to this scholarship and admissions for the school before you graduate though.

Dentistry is a separate school at Korean universities, same with medicine. You can’t study dentistry with this scholarship.

No, this is for all 4 years of school
I have my duolingo test scores. Am I eligible to study there? Is there any way to waive the application fee?
Hello, I’m not sure if Sungkyunkwan University accepts Duolingo Scores. In their admission guidelines, it says “Original official English proficiency test(TOEFL iBT, IELTS, TEPS, TOEIC, etc.) score report submission.” So you should ask admissions if they will accept Duolingo Score. For application fee, I’m not sure either. You should ask them about it, but I doubt that they will waive it for you.
I’m Ugandan and well we don’t have school diplomas because of the different education systems. What can I do about this??
I’m not sure. You should ask the university directly and see what they say. I think it will be different for different universities.
hi, I am studying Korean at KUW now, I have TOPIK 4, and my high school scores are a bit low (7,6/10), but my Korean score is (85+) in KUW so can I get the Samsung Global Sungkyun Scholarship for Foreign Students or any scholarship? thank you.

Hello, I don’t believe this scholarship is applicable to transfer students. You would have to apply as a freshman
Hi, an undergrad here, after applying to Sungkyunkwan, how will i get a form to fill to apply for the Samsung Scholarship? Or how will the school know that i need the scholarship, do i send an email?

Currently, it would be for Spring 2025 intake
I have Topik 6 and 8.5 IELTs along with CGPA of 9.5/10. I also have some Korean prizes back in high school and more than 10 activities relating to my major. However I did not take the SAT test and im also applying for a social science major (i heard that it would be better if the applicant apply for natural science major). Will i have any chance for this scholarship?
I think you are a very strong candidate since you have extremely high language proficiency scores in both English and Korean. If you have a good SAT or ACT score, that will make your application stronger. I highly recommend you to apply for this scholarship (you just have to apply for admissions to be considered), and also, I recommend that you apply for Global Korea Scholarships as well if you are in eligible countries. You have a very good chance of getting it.
Thank you for your response. I have another question. As I plan to major in Media and Communication, I had to apply through Korean Track for SKKU. Is the Samsung global scholarship available for both Korean Track and English track?
It doesn’t say specifically on the website; it just says it’s for foreign students, so I’m guessing it’s available for both tracks?
Is a TOPIK a must to apply for this scholarship?
No, TOPIK is not a requirement but it is good to have. You either need TOPIK or IELTS/TOEFL
I’m from Nepal. I have done IELTS and have 72 percentage in bachelors with majoring in IT. Can I get Master’s scholarship?
Hello, this is a bachelor’s scholarship. You can search for Master’s Scholarships here. I don’t know if you will be able to get it or not; you don’t know until you apply
I have IELTS 7.0 almost two years (expires on may) and in my country there is only 11 year of study in school, did my foundation year which is equivalent to 12th grade, getting gpa 4.0/4.0, and the study was in english. I did amazingly in relevant modules to global economics (applying to), like math, eco and others. Will I be a strong candidate
I don’t think you are strong candidate unless you have strong scores on SAT, ACT, AP, or IB. You might be able to get in without these tests, but it is advisable to have good scores on these tests
If I retake IELTS and get at least 7.5, will it better or i really need sat?
You should try to get at least 7.5 on the IELTS. Also, having a higher score on the SAT/ACT definitely helps on your application.
how many quotas are there?
They don’t specify the quota
