Hello, I would like to know how exactly to apply for an admission and also a scholarship to Columbia University. Thank you.

Hi, for graduate schools at Columbia University, the admission process is decentralized, meaning that each department’s admissions process is different. So, you should go to the department that you are interested and see the admission procedure there. Same with graduate scholarships at Columbia as well. Most Ph.D.s are fully funded at Columbia University, but for Master’s, each department have different funding levels.

Hello, i would like to apply for graduate assistantships. I graduated BS Mechanical Engineer in the Philippines, Am i qualified?

    • Hyun Lee February 16, 2024 at 3:58 pm - Reply

Hello, there’s no “being qualified” for graduate assistantships because it’s not like if you meet this set of requirements, graduate assistantships are awarded. It depends on how many assistants are needed at that particular time. Regarding graduate assistantships at Columbia or at any US university though in general, Master’s students have a difficult time obtaining assistantships since the Ph.D. students get the assistantships first.

Hello, I am looking for a scholarship in Master of Counselling

    • Hyun Lee March 7, 2024 at 5:22 pm - Reply

Hello, Columbia University does offer Masters in Education with a focus on counseling, but I’m not sure if they offer just counseling itself. For scholarships such as graduate assistantships, you have to see if your department have funding available for Masters. It does differ by department.

It depends on the department, but almost all Ph.D. programs offer full funding for their Ph.D. programs.
