Washington State University (WSU), founded in 1890, is a prominent public research university with its main campus located in Pullman, Washington. As a land-grant institution, WSU is committed to expanding access to higher education and fostering innovation through research and public service. The university offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs across various fields, preparing students to become global leaders and professionals through a combination of rigorous academics, hands-on learning, and community engagement.

WSU provides financial assistance to undergraduate students through several scholarships, including the International Academic Award. This partially funded scholarship offers up to $4,000 per academic year, applied directly to tuition fees for eligible international students based on academic merit. In addition to this award, students can apply through the university’s general scholarship application to be considered for hundreds of additional scholarships offered across colleges and departments.

Graduate students at WSU have access to robust funding options, most notably Graduate Student Assistantships. These positions, which may involve teaching, research, or administrative work, typically include full tuition waivers, monthly living stipends, and comprehensive medical and dental insurance. These assistantships offer not only financial support but also valuable professional experience that complements graduate study.

WSU students can also explore external sources of funding. The AAUW’s International Fellowship offers full funding for women pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees, with awards of $20,000 for master’s, $25,000 for doctoral, and $50,000 for postdoctoral candidates. Another prominent opportunity is the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, which provides international graduate students with comprehensive support including tuition, travel, monthly stipends, and health insurance while studying in the United States.

Hello, there are partially funded scholarships like the International Academic Award that is given to bachelor’s international students, but it is for $4,000 USD per year scholarship. There are other scholarships available, but most international students receive less than $5,000 USD a year in total
