I would like to have a chance to get scholarship for Master Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Arizona State University. But, I would like to ask about my eligibility to apply for the scholarship. I had my previous Bachelor degree GPA of 2,62 (scale 4) from the Environmental Engineering, Institute of Technology Bandung in 1991. Am I eligible to apply for the scholarship ?

Hello, a scholarship that you might be eligible for is Graduate Assistantships at Arizona State University, but it is rare for Master’s students to get assistantships since the funding goes to Ph.D. students first. Also, your low GPA might be a limiting factor.

I would like to apply for a scholarship for PhD in Arizona University.
I had my first degree in Human Anatomy, Master of public health, and would like to pursue my doctoral degree in public health.

Hello, most Ph.D. students at Arizona are fully funded. I’m pretty sure it’s the same for Ph.D. in public health.

Hello, first of all, Master’s scholarships at ASU are limited, and it’s just that way for all institutions in the US. The most likely scenario is Graduate Assistantships like RA or TA, but funding for those goes to Ph.D. students first, and whatever is left over, goes to Master’s. For Master’s, many of the students do not get any scholarships whatsoever, and that is the reality. Unless you are a fabulous applicant, I doubt that you will get a scholarship for Master’s. Regarding your question, yes, anybody is eligible to apply (ASU has no hard limit on GPA), but it is highly competitive for Master’s.

Hello, Arizona State University does offer Master’s in Philosophy and you can find the application procedure in the Admissions Section. I don’t think that the course would be competitive, so you do have a good chance especially if your profile is solid.

Hello, there are master’s scholarships available at Arizona State University, which are Graduate Assistantships and Graduate College Enrichment Fellowships. Like in the previous comments, it is difficult for Master’s students to get assistantships because the funding is prioritized for Ph.D. It is possible, but difficult for Master’s. For Graduate College Enrichment Fellowships, if you are from a underrepresented group, you can consider applying. It does require a separate application form though.

    Hi,
I look forward to an opportunity of a scholarship for my PhD program in Law, with Arizona State University as an International student.

    • Hyun Lee November 7, 2023 at 11:13 am - Reply

Hello, Arizona State University does not offer Ph.D. in Law, but they offer something similar which is Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD). You can find more information on the Department of Law page. I’m not sure if international students are admitted in the first place because law is a specialized degree, and if they do, if they are eligible for scholarships.

Hello, there are assistantships available for Master’s, but they are hard to get. Most Master’s students in the US are paying out of their own pockets.

    Dear sir,
I hope this message finds you in the best of spirits. I recently graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon with a 3.77(4.0 scale) GPA and a BSc in Information Technology. I want to pursue my Masters in Cybersecurity or Computer Science. I do not have a GRE score. I am on a very tight budget (low finance). Am I late applying for ASU? Can you also guide me or recommend a list of schools that can offer full scholarships or tuition?

    • Hyun Lee February 17, 2024 at 5:47 pm - Reply

Hello, regarding Master’s in general in the US, there are fully funded scholarships available, but it is extremely competitive like Stanford’s Knight Hennessy scholarships. I don’t think US is a good destination if you are looking for at least full tuition scholarships, but places like Asia would be better. Check out our scholarship database if you are interested.
