Mandela Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• A full-time Master's student
• Holding an undergraduate degree from an African university with the grades equivalent of a UK upper second-class degree

Mandela Scholarship Application Procedure

If you meet the eligibility criteria for University of Sussex and Mandela Scholarship, you can move forward with the application process!

Remember to apply for admission to University of Sussex first before applying for Mandela Scholarship. You can visit the official website found in University of Sussex Admissions Section to see the admissions application process.

A separate scholarship application – in addition to University of Sussex admission – is needed for Mandela Scholarship. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

• Online scholarship application
• A written statement detailing background, ambitions, future plans and leadership potential

Mandela Scholarship Deadlines

The great news is that there is no specific deadline to apply for Mandela Scholarship! While there are no specific dates, it’s important to apply before the University of Sussex admission deadlines. Here are the deadlines:

• Master's Deadline (September Intake): August 1, 2025
• Master's Deadline (January Intake): November 30, 2025
