I am Thamaraikannan from India. I completed my master's degree in IC Engines (Mechanical) and am currently pursuing my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan. I chose to continue my studies in this field to deepen my expertise and contribute to advanced research.

MOE Taiwan Scholarship Details

I was awarded the MOE Scholarship from the Taiwan Government, which covers tuition fees up to NTD 40,000 and provides a monthly stipend of NTD 20,000.

Educational Background

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Distinction, followed by a master’s degree in IC Engines, also with First Class Distinction. Additionally, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Vel Tech University.

How Did You Prepare to Apply to National Chung Hsing University?

I researched university details and reached out to Taiwan Edu Consult. I prepared my autobiography, study plan, and research proposal carefully as part of the application.

How Did You Find Information About the MOE Taiwan Scholarship and National Chung Hsing University?

I obtained information through TECC Chennai.

Did You Take Any Standardized Tests?

No standardized tests were required for my application.

How Did You Prepare to Apply for the MOE Taiwan Scholarship?

I began by gathering all necessary documents, such as my diploma and transcripts, then prepared a thorough study plan and secured two strong letters of recommendation from my professors.

How Was Your Experience at the National Chung Hsing University?

My experience has been excellent. The university is among Taiwan’s top institutions, and my professors have been very supportive and approachable.

How Do You Rate the National Chung Hsing University Academically and Why?

I hold it in very high regard due to its comprehensive research facilities and support, including access to new equipment when needed. The institution encourages students to publish in top journals and offers research awards up to NTD 50,000.

How Does the National Chung Hsing University Support International Students?

The university has an Office for International Affairs (OIA) dedicated to supporting international students, organizing local trips, and hosting international student festivals.

Are Your Classes Conducted in English or Mandarin?

My classes are taught entirely in English.

What Do You Think Made Your Application Stand Out?

My strong research background in my field made my application stand out.

What Would You Have Done Differently If You Went Through the Process Again?

I would improve my proficiency in Mandarin.
