My name is Loveth Amarachi Odozor, and I am from Nigeria. I hold a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Yeshiva University's Katz School of Science and Health, with distinction, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Hezekiah University, Nigeria, where I graduated with a first-class degree in Computer Science. My decision to pursue advanced studies in cybersecurity was fueled by my deep passion for protecting digital infrastructures and my commitment to contributing to global security. With the rise of cyber threats worldwide, I want to combine my technical background with specialized training to become an expert who can drive innovation and resilience in the cybersecurity field. I am very passionate about providing technology-driven solutions on a global scale.

AAUW International Fellowships Details

I am honored to be a recipient of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship Award, valued at $20,000. The AAUW International Fellowships support education and equity for women by funding international students who pursue postgraduate studies or research in the U.S., to help them apply their expertise, professional skills, and leadership to create impact in their home countries. This prestigious scholarship has been instrumental in supporting my academic journey in the United States, allowing me to focus on excelling in my studies and research.

Yes, I was also offered the ISC2 Graduate Scholarship, which amounted to $1,000.

Educational Background

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Hezekiah University, Umudi, in Nigeria. I graduated with a first-class with a CGPA of 4.68 out of 5.0. My undergraduate degree in Computer Science provided the strong technical foundation that prepared me to pursue advanced studies in Cybersecurity. Through coursework in programming, data structures, algorithms, and computer networks, I developed the analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to understand how systems are built and how they can be protected. My undergraduate research and projects also exposed me to practical aspects of system vulnerabilities, which sparked my interest in information security.

How Does the Award Support International Students?

The AAUW International Fellowship provides significant support for international students by promoting access to quality education and advancing equity for women. Through this fellowship, AAUW not only offers financial assistance that helps cover tuition, research, and living expenses, but also invests in our personal and professional growth. The program recognizes the unique challenges faced by international students and creates opportunities for us to pursue advanced education in the United States without being limited by financial barriers.

Beyond funding, AAUW supports international fellows by connecting us to a global network of accomplished women leaders, scholars, and professionals. This community fosters mentorship, collaboration, and encouragement, ensuring that we are empowered to apply our expertise and leadership both during our studies and when we return to contribute to our home countries.
