The Journey

My name is Kulasinee Pipattanasookmongkol, and I’m from Bangkok, Thailand. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kasetsart University. After university, I worked as a business developer at a health-tech company that developed AI solutions to support Thai doctors across both public and private hospitals.

I also founded WomenSet, a nonprofit initiative focused on women’s empowerment and business incubation for vulnerable women in Thailand, blending my business background with a passion for gender equity.

Chevening Scholarship Details

I am currently studying at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the UK, pursuing a Master's in Globalization, Business and Sustainable Development in the School of Global Development.

I was awarded the Chevening Scholarship, a fully funded scholarship from the UK government for one year of study.

Educational Background

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Kasetsart University. My time in university was enriched with volunteering and social impact projects, which led to receiving grants totaling around $30,000 USD to implement a gender justice and empowerment project.

These experiences, along with my work in the health-tech sector, shaped my interest in development, technology, and inclusive growth — all of which prepared me well for my current studies.

How Did You Prepare to Apply to the University of East Anglia?

I spent a lot of time researching programs that align with both my background and future goals. The course at UEA stood out because it perfectly blends topics I care deeply about: business, sustainability, and global development.

Standardized Tests and Exam Prep

For English language requirements, I took the IELTS, meeting the minimum score of 6.5 required by most UK universities. I prepared through online resources and practice tests.

How Did You Prepare to Apply to the Chevening Scholarship?

I watched YouTube videos from Chevening alumni, joined webinars, and read official guidance on Chevening’s website. Understanding the values of the scholarship was key for me.

What Do You Think Made Your Application Stand Out?

I was sincere and self-aware in my application. I demonstrated a clear alignment between my goals and the values of the Chevening Scholarship, especially around leadership, giving back to society, and having a realistic, step-by-step future plan.

What Would You Have Done Differently?

Honestly, I wouldn’t change anything. The process taught me a lot and helped me grow.

Advice for Future Applicants

Understand the core values of the scholarship and be genuine in your application. Chevening looks for potential changemakers, so focus on your impact and vision. And remember, honesty really matters; don’t try to be someone you’re not.
