Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Biomedical Engineering (EMMBIOME)
Erasmus Mundus Scholarship
Cristian Larios from Masaya, Nicaragua, is completing the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Biomedical Engineering (EMMBIOME), with study mobility across Serbia, Greece, and Romania. His journey began with a Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering at the National University of Engineering in Managua, where he built a strong foundation in embedded programming, signals & systems, and sensor technologies, culminating in a hands-on air-quality monitoring thesis.
Through Erasmus Mundus, he’s engaged in a multidisciplinary curriculum spanning medical imaging, biosignal processing, medical robotics, and instrumentation. Now, back in Patras, he is finalizing his thesis on a ROS2/Gazebo-based robotic hip-screw insertion system. His studies have been fully funded, covering tuition and living costs, and he managed expenses effectively through shared housing and student discounts in each country.
Read his story to see how technical excellence and adaptability unlocked this fully funded journey across Europe.
