Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), located in one of China’s most dynamic cities, is a world-class research institution known for academic rigor, innovation, and global engagement. To help international undergraduate students, SJTU offers the Undergraduate English and French Program Scholarships and the Undergraduate Chinese Program Scholarships. These scholarships are fully funded and awarded in three tiers: First-Class recipients receive coverage for tuition, monthly living expenses of 2,500 RMB, an accommodation subsidy of 1,000 RMB, and insurance. Second-Class and Third-Class recipients receive progressively reduced coverage, including partial tuition and living support.
For graduate students, the MIB Program Scholarship provides full or partial tuition waivers for Master’s students based on merit. There are also additional Graduate Scholarships that provide partial funding for both Master’s and PhD students, covering study-related costs.
SJTU also participates in several prestigious external funding programs. The Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship offers comprehensive financial support, including tuition fees, accommodation, a living stipend, and health insurance for all degree levels. In addition, the Chinese Government Scholarship provides full funding, covering tuition, housing, monthly stipends (CNY 2,500–3,500 depending on degree level), and insurance.
