Citizens of Sweden, the EU/EEA, and Switzerland are generally not required to pay application or tuition fees. Most applicants from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay a 900 SEK application fee and tuition, although exemptions can apply in specific cases.
Tuition varies by university and program. For current examples, Karolinska Institutet’s Master’s Programme in Public Health Sciences lists a total tuition fee of 360,000 SEK; Lund University’s Public Health master’s program lists 410,000 SEK; the University of Gothenburg lists 324,000 SEK; Uppsala University’s Swedish-taught Public Health master’s program lists 330,000 SEK; and KTH’s Technology, Work and Health master’s program lists 360,000 SEK.
Living costs should also be budgeted carefully. For 2026, students who need a Swedish residence permit must show at least 10,656 SEK per month of study. Scholarships are available through Swedish universities and the Swedish Institute for eligible fee-paying international students.

The program is a two-year, 120 ECTS English-taught master’s program delivered through blended learning at KTH Campus and KTH Flemingsberg. Linnaeus University previously appeared in this article with a Health Science master’s program. However, a current active English-taught Health Science master’s program could not be confirmed from Linnaeus University’s current master’s program listings, so it should not be presented as a confirmed current MPH option.
