University Belt and Road Scholarship Coverage

This fully funded scholarship for international students covers the following:

  • 100% tuition fees
  • Accommodation within the university (for full scholars only)
  • Monthly living allowance worth 1,500 RMB for bachelor's, 2,000 RMB for master's, and 2,500 RMB for PhD (for full scholars only)

University Belt and Road Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Direct and independent applicants
  • 18 to 30 years old (if bachelor's students)
  • 18 to 35 years old (if master's students)
  • 18 to 40 years old (if PhD students)
  • NOT recipients of other Chinese scholarships
  • Completers of at least 2-year Chinese-taught program or having at least HSK Level 4 (if enrolling in Chinese-taught courses)
  • Completers of at least 2-year English-taught program or having at least IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 95 (if enrolling in English-taught courses)

University Belt and Road Scholarship Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for University Belt and Road Scholarship. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Recent passport photo
  • 600 RMB application fee
  • Physical examination record
  • Proof of language proficiency
  • Copy of first page of passport
  • Notarized diploma or degree certificate
  • Two recommendation letters written by professors (for graduate students only)
  • Study or research plan (at least 200 words for bachelor's and 800 words for graduate students)

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

  1. Collect the required documents.
  2. Pay an application fee.
  3. Submit your documents via online.
