Special Scholarship Program Coverage

This fully funded scholarship for international students covers the following:

Exemption from examination, enrollment and tuition fees
Monthly stipend of 150,000 JPY
One time payment of 150,00 JPY for travel and initial living expenses

Special Scholarship Program Eligibility Criteria

Doctoral applicant with permission from a project leader to apply for a research project
Below 35 years of age at the time of enrollment
Adequately proficient in English with a score equals to or above 72 in TOEFL iBT or 5.5 in IELTS

Special Scholarship Program Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Special Scholarship Program. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

Online Pre-Application Request
Proof of Permission from Project Leader

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

Select a project of interest from the list of SSP Research Projects
Find and note the project leader of your selected project
Complete and send an online Pre-Application Request Form to the project leader of your selected project seeking permission to apply for the scholarship
If your request is accepted, fill out all the necessary documents and submit to KUT by mail
