Merit Scholarships Coverage

This fully funded scholarship for international students covers the following:

• 100% institutional costs (tuition, fees, room, and board) for Chancellor's Scholars
• 100% in-state tuition and fees for Diversity Scholars
• $10,000 annual stipend for Beaver Scholars
• $2,000 annual stipend for W.H. Plemmons Leadership Scholars

Merit Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

• You just need to be an international Bachelor's student or applicant of Appalachian State University.

If you meet the eligibility criteria for Appalachian State University and Merit Scholarships, you can move forward with the application process!

Remember to apply for admission to Appalachian State University first before applying for Merit Scholarships. You can visit the official website found in Appalachian State University Admissions Section to see the admissions application process.

Merit Scholarships Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Merit Scholarships. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

• Signature Scholarship and Selective Academic Programs application

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

1. Apply to admissions by November 15
2. Accomplish a Signature Scholarship and Selective Academic Programs application by November 30

Merit Scholarships Deadlines

• Scholarship Application Deadline (Complete Admissions Application) : November 15, 2025
• Scholarship Application Deadline (Additional Essay Submission) : November 30, 2025
