Merit Scholarships Coverage

This full tuition scholarship for international students covers the following:

• 100% tuition and fees for students eligible for Presidential Scholarship
• 75% tuition and fees eligible students for Ambassador Scholarship
• Book allowance

Merit Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

• A newly admitted FIU first year student
• Able to present a minimum 4.0 GPA and 1370 SAT / or 30 ACT to quality for a Presidential Scholarship
• Able to present a minimum 4.0 GPA and 1280 SAT / or 27 ACT to quality for an Ambassador Scholarship

Merit Scholarships Application Procedure

If you meet the eligibility criteria for Florida International University and Merit Scholarships, you can move forward with the application process!

Remember to apply for admission to Florida International University first before applying for Merit Scholarships. You can visit the official website found in Florida International University Admissions Section to see the admissions application process.

A separate scholarship application – in addition to Florida International University admission – is needed for Merit Scholarships. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

• Able to submit 2 letters of recommendation
• Able to write an essay response to a prompt given by Florida International University
