Wow. Interested. My son is just about to clear his 12th year at Arusha Meru International school in Tanzania where he doing his GCE. His passion is Engineering.
Sounds good! He will need to learn Japanese first since engineering is taught in Japanese for Bachelor’s at the university. Check out the official scholarship page for information on the scholarship!
Hey Hyun. I’ve been on my own scholarships journey too. It hasn’t been hassle-free but you have been of great help. I am looking for fully funded scholarships especially in the US and Canada. Recently I saw your post on a scholarship in University of Tokyo, Japan. Can I apply as a Nigerian student who hasn’t learned Japanese. Is everything taught in Japanese? I’m going for Computer Science
For bachelor’s, everything is taught in Japanese. For Master’s and Ph.D., you can do Master’s in Computer Science in English. They are both research-based degrees, and you only take very few courses but do research for those degrees. As long as you can communicate with your professor, and majority of professors at UTokyo are good English speakers, you should be fine. The nationality does not matter also.
How can we crack their exams and will the university teach Japanese for us?
Hello, they do link to their past exams for most programs. You can find the past papers for reference. For Japanese, if you are bachelor’s, you do need that before admissions. You can attend language school before admissions if you want to learn Japanese beforehand
