International Doctoral Scholarship Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for International Doctoral Scholarship. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

• Acceptance letter
• Award certificates
• Personal statement
• Registration fee payment certificate
• Master's degree certificate or diploma
• Physical examination form for foreigners
• Copy of Personal information page of passport
• Master's academic transcripts (original or notarized)
• Two recommendation letters written by academic professors
• Certificate of HSK Level 5 or above (if applying to Chinese-taught programs)
• Proof of English language proficiency (if applying to English-taught programs)
• Application Form of International Doctoral Scholarship of Tongji University (signed by applicant and supervisor)

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

1. Contact doctoral supervisor and ask for the scholarship application form.
2. Fill out the form.
3. Submit form and other requested documents to supervisor via email.
4. Wait for the supervisor to return documents to you with their opinion.
5. Upload and submit application online.
