ETH Zürich’s Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme is designed for master’s students across all subjects. Annually given to 60 recipients, this program offers tuition fee waivers and up to CHF 12,000 for living costs and study expenses per semester. Beyond financial support, ESOP provides a comprehensive experience, including mentorship and access to the ETH Foundation network. This initiative aims to foster academic excellence and personal development for deserving students at ETH Zürich.

Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme Application Process
A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme. You’ll have to collect these requirements:
Self-developed pre-proposal for a master's thesis
Two reference professors (only if program did not ask for references during admission application)
Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:
- Apply for admission to a master's program via eApply.
- Attach your pre-proposal and additional references to your eApply application.
