Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme at ETH Zürich 2025 (Fully Funded)
ETH Zürich’s Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme is designed for master’s students across all subjects. Annually given to 60 recipients, this program offers tuition fee waivers and up to CHF 12,000 for living costs and study expenses per semester. Beyond financial support, ESOP provides a comprehensive experience, including mentorship and access to the ETH Foundation network. This initiative aims to foster academic excellence and personal development for deserving students at ETH Zürich.
Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme Coverage
This fully funded scholarship for international students covers the following:
- Tuition fee waivers
- Up to CHF 12,000 living costs and study expenses per semester
Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme Eligibility Criteria
- Reachable via telephone for an interview
- Not yet enrolled in or hold a master's degree
- Top 10% or Grade A holders of their bachelor's degree program

Remember to apply for admission to ETH Zürich first before applying for Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme. You can visit the official website found in ETH Zürich Admissions Section to see the admissions application process.
Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme Application Process
A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Excellence Scholarship and Opportunity Programme. You’ll have to collect these requirements:
- Self-developed pre-proposal for a master's thesis
- Two reference professors (only if program did not ask for references during admission application)
Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:
- Apply for admission to a master's program via eApply.
- Attach your pre-proposal and additional references to your eApply application.

It doesn’t look like this scholarship have any course restrictions, and they do offer a similar degree called Biomedical Image Computing and Biomedical Imaging, so I would say, yes? However, you should check with the university just to make sure.

No, ETH Zurich does not offer Master’s in Cultural Heritage. You probably need to go something more general like History and then specialize in your field of study
