Hello, I am Sarita Banjade, from Nepal. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. I have an academic and professional background in agriculture and development, and I am particularly interested in agricultural policy, rural livelihoods, and food systems.

DAAD EPOS Scholarship Details

I received the DAAD EPOS (Development-Related Postgraduate Courses) scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The scholarship is fully funded and covers tuition fees, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and travel expenses from the home country to Germany. It is intended for professionals from developing countries with relevant work experience and a strong development focus. For me, it was not just financial support, but a life-changing opportunity to study and grow.

Educational Background

I completed my Bachelor’s in agriculture from Agriculture and Forestry University, Nepal, with a GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0. During my undergraduate studies, I gained knowledge in agricultural production, economics, and rural development, which prepared me for further academic pursuits.

How Did You Prepare to Apply to the University of Hohenheim?

I researched programs listed under the DAAD EPOS category and identified the MSc in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim as the best fit for my goals. I took the IELTS exam and obtained a score of 7.5. I also prepared my CV, statement of purpose, and obtained recommendation letters that clearly reflected my academic background and work experience.

I thoroughly reviewed the DAAD EPOS application guidelines and aligned my application accordingly. Start your preparation well in advance. Make sure your documents are well-organized and clearly explain how your academic background and work experience qualify you for the scholarship. Believe in your story. Let your passion and purpose guide every sentence of your application.
