Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship Details
I received the Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship, which is a merit-based scholarship. The scholarship included a waiver of tuition fees and an amount of 8100 euros for each academic year (I received the scholarship for 2 years).
Educational Background
I completed my bachelor’s degree in Banking and Insurance with a CGPI of 9.88/10. Growing up in a middle-class household, it was always important for us to keep our monthly expenses strictly within the budget. I have grown up watching my parents meticulously calculating and speculating over their spending behaviour. I would, in my innocence, offer to help them by asking for fewer things and limiting my spending of my pocket money. To buy things that I desired greatly, I would save up in my piggy bank and gush over how much money I had ‘made’ while breaking the piggy bank. I consider this upbringing to be my first lesson in Finance and Banking.
How Did You Prepare to Apply to the University of Siena?
Firstly shortlisted Italy as my country to study Finance since it offered a good course curriculum and a full scholarship based on past academic performance.
How Did You Prepare to Apply to the Invest Your Talent in Italy Scholarship?
I had to prepare a statement of purpose (SOP) and a one-minute video explaining why I deserve this scholarship.
What Do You Think Made Your Application Stand Out?
My good academic performance of 9.88/10 CGPI and an impact SOP /Video helped me secure the scholarship.
What Would You Have Done Differently if You Were Going Through the Process Again?
By and large, I am satisfied with my application for the scholarship, and I would do the same thing even if I had to apply again. I guided other students with the same tips, and they were successful in securing the scholarship.
What Advice Would You Give Those Looking to Apply for a Similar Scholarship?
My advice is to be honest while writing the SOP and be clear as to why you should be selected for the scholarship.
