Hello, I am Mehenaz Mashreen, and I am from Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International and Development Economics at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) Berlin in Germany as a DAAD scholar.
I have always been deeply interested in understanding global inequality, development challenges, and how economic policies shape people’s lives, especially in developing countries like Bangladesh. This motivation led me to pursue higher education in development economics, where I could connect academic theory with real-world issues.

I received the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Scholarship to pursue my Master’s degree at HTW Berlin. The scholarship is fully funded and covers a monthly stipend, health insurance, travel allowance, and other academic-related expenses.
Educational Background
I completed my undergraduate degree in Bangladesh, and my GPA was 3.5 (on a scale of 4.00). My academic background, combined with my professional experience in the development sector, helped me build a strong foundation for studying development economics.
Before starting my Master’s, I worked with organizations such as the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), where I gained practical insights into humanitarian work, disaster response, and development challenges. This experience strengthened my interest in pursuing further studies in this field.
