The Journey
Born and raised in Singapore, I’m Enya, a final-semester student at the University of Melbourne (Graduating on Aug 25). Since arriving in Australia to pursue my Bachelor of Arts degree (Double Majoring in Media & Communications, and Politics & International Studies), I’ve had the opportunity to learn and grow not just academically, but professionally too. I’ve always believed that media and politics are the cornerstones of our current world, and I gained significant interest in the ways in which they can affect businesses and our economy.
Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship Details
I received the Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship, which covered a one-off university fee remission of $15,000 (AUD). This was granted to me by my university, awarding the top 3% of students in the cohort of applicants.
Educational Background
Before gaining admission into the University of Melbourne, I enrolled in Trinity College Foundation Studies (which grants students a direct pathway into my university if they meet certain score requirements/prerequisites). This program played a key role in allowing me to better understand the Australian education system and university expectations. As I studied in Singapore before this, I was not required to take any language tests and used the Cambridge O-Level Examination scores to gain admission into Trinity College.
How Did You Prepare to Apply for the Scholarship?
Everyone who applies to the University of Melbourne is immediately considered for this scholarship – making it a seamless process and I was very grateful to have been granted the scholarship.
