4 Aquaculture and Environment and Society Scholarship Winners

Expanding aquaculture can support food production and livelihoods, but it may also raise questions about coastal ecosystems, resource access, regulation, and local communities. Those tensions give Aquaculture and Environment and Society scholarships a distinctly interdisciplinary focus.

Winners may base their applications on community research, environmental assessment, policy analysis, or experience with aquatic production systems. Their decisions show how to connect ecological evidence with the people, institutions, and economic interests affected by fish farming.
