Facts About Yourself

  • College that you will be attending: Mississippi State University
  • Program: Architecture
  • Career Plan (if you have one): In the long run, I want to have my own architecture firm focused on residential and commercial projects, while also being actively involved in heritage preservation and conservation in Nepal. At the same time, I’m eager to grow my passion for visual storytelling and hope to dive into cinema when it feels right.
  • Hobbies: I’m into filmmaking and acting, and I genuinely love being in front of the camera. When I’m not doing that, I read, journal, work on my art, and mess around with my ukulele.
  • One fun fact about yourself: I have a really strong gut instinct. I often sense things before they happen and end up predicting the future more accurately than I’d expect!

How Did You Hear About GlobalScholarships.com’s External Scholarship?

I found out about GlobalScholarships.com while doing my own research on external scholarships. Later, I also checked my university’s scholarship listings and saw it being recommended there, too. That added to my confidence, and I decided to go ahead and apply.

How Was the Application Process of the GlobalScholarships.com External Scholarships, and How Did You Prepare for it?

The process was very straightforward and simple. The questions were direct, nothing too overwhelming. Once I knew what was needed, I just took time with my essay. I wanted to be real and honest with myself, no matter what the outcome would be. That mindset really helped me enjoy the process instead of overthinking it.

Have You Received Other Scholarships from Your University or Other Organizations?

Yes, I’ve received the Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship and the Freshman Academic Excellence Scholarship from Mississippi State University.

What Do You Advise Other Students, Whether It Be for this Scholarship or Other External Scholarships?

Stop trying to sound like the “ideal applicant.” Everyone has a unique story, and the more honest you are with it, the more powerful it becomes. My advice would be: give yourself the time to reflect and write to express, not to impress. That’s what makes your application stand out. Trust yourself more. If you feel something is right for you, follow through with it.
