Afiya from Indonesia is pursuing an International Master’s in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO) through the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, studying across Ghent University, BOKU Vienna, and the University of Goettingen. With a Bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung and thesis research on soil contamination, she built a strong academic foundation despite earlier struggles, complemented by an exchange at the University of Waterloo. Careful preparation for IELTS, strong motivation and recommendations, and a well-structured application helped her stand out among nearly 1,000 applicants.
