Ana Huembes is a Central American educator and human rights advocate from Nicaragua who recently completed the Erasmus Mundus International Master’s in Adult Education for Social Change (IMAESC); a joint programme across Scotland, Malta, and Estonia. Coming from a low-income background, Ana has dedicated over 13 years to advancing equitable education and social inclusion, working with excluded and migrant communities to expand access to higher education.

As an Erasmus Mundus scholar, she founded the first Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) Country Representation in Nicaragua and was named EMA Ambassador of the Year 2025.
