The Ireland Fellows Programme-Africa is a fully-funded one-year master’s scholarship, provided by the Irish Government, to early-mid-career professionals from eligible African countries. With the aim of strengthening leadership capacity to contribute to sustainable development, the program enables selected fellows to benefit from studying in Irish higher-education institutions and acquire relevant skills they can use upon return to their home country. This program is looking to strengthen ties further with Ireland, promote inclusive education, and nurture future leaders who will assist in realizing national SDG goals and long-term partnership-building between Africa and Ireland.

Ireland Fellows Programme – Africa Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Ireland Fellows Programme – Africa, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 2–3 years of substantial work experience directly related to the proposed field of study
