The CAS-ANSO Scholarship is jointly offered by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Alliance of International Science Organizations to provide opportunities for outstanding students from all over the world for pursuing master’s and doctoral programs in China. Emphasizing advancing scientific collaboration and capacity building, the program will gather talented researchers from developing countries to study at well-known Chinese institutions such as USTC and UCAS. This CAS-ANSO Scholarship fosters research relevant for sustainable development, science, and innovation; it seeks to cultivate the next generation of scientists and leaders who will help drive forward global progress and reinforce international cooperation in research and technology.

CAS-ANSO Scholarship Coverage

This scholarship for international students covers the following:

  • 100% of tuition fees
  • A monthly stipend of 3000 RMB for Master's and up to 7000 RMB for PhD students
  • Health insurance
  • Application fee waiver
  • Visa, travel, and residence permit allowance

CAS-ANSO Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CAS-ANSO Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Proficient in either English or Chinese
  • Master’s applicants aged 30 years old or younger
  • PhD applicants aged 35 years old or younger
  • Meet the admission requirements for international students of USTC or UCAS

  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form
  • Language proficiency proof: HSK Level 4 certificate or equivalent, valid IELTS, TOEFL, or other English proficiency proof (waived for native English speakers)
  • Degree certificates and academic transcripts notarized by the Ministry of Education or equivalent authority
  • Notarized translations; attach Chinese or English translations if any document is in another language.
