1. University of the Philippines 

The University of the Philippines, founded in 1908, is among the top-ranked universities for data science in the Philippines and the best in the country. It is famous for its high-quality education and reputable alumni who have made a mark in various industries locally and abroad. The UP system has eight branches with 15 campuses.

Government offices and major local corporations often highly prefer graduates from the institution. The University of the Philippines -Diliman’s Ph.D. in Data Science program offers excellent training for professionals who need to boost their statistical, programming, and data analysis skills to qualify for some of the top positions in the data science industry in the Philippines.

This program offers three tracks for graduate students interested in data science: the Straight Ph.D. option for admitted BS students who must complete 58-60 units of coursework (including the dissertation), the Regular Ph.D. option, and the Ph.D. by Research for the master’s students. 2. Ateneo de Manila University 

Ateneo de Manila University originated in 1859 as a public primary school under the supervision of Spanish Jesuits. Several years later, the school started offering technical courses. In 1902, it became a private institution. Today, Ateneo is one of the top data science universities in the Philippines and is recognized by prestigious global rankings.

The university offers a Master of Science in Data Science program with the Queen Mary University of London. The program lasts 18 to 21 months, and students may spend a semester in London. However, the credits earned abroad will still be part of the Ateneo degree. To complete the program, students must maintain a B+ grade, equal to an academic score of 85%, during the first two semesters.

The computation of tuition fees varies depending on the number of units per semester or whether the students plan to take the program full-time or part-time. The whole program consists of 36 units. Domestic and international students may also apply for scholarships to supplement their living costs or subsidize the tuition fees.

3. University of Santo Tomas 

The University of Santo Tomas, established in 1611, is the oldest in the Philippines and Asia. This higher institution’s 410 years of history and excellence helped the school gain recognition from world rankings. UST also earned a competitive advantage in the labor market due to its high quality of education. Its Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or BSCS program, delivers a world-class data science curriculum.

This four-year program offers students the option to select from three specialization tracks: core computer science, game development, or data science. 4. University of Asia and the Pacific

The University of Asia and the Pacific started as the Center for Research and Communication (CRC) in 1967. It later acquired its current name in 1995 and became autonomous in 2017. UA&P is an excellent institution for data science in the Philippines that has established partnerships with numerous institutions in the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Europe.

Note that learners whose primary or second language isn’t English must submit a TOEFL or IELTS certification.
