The Yuhan Foundation Scholarship program supports students so that financial hardship does not interrupt their education. Rooted in the public-service philosophy of Dr. Ilhan Yoo, the foundation provides scholarships to help cultivate future talent and support students from a range of challenging backgrounds.

The scholarship programs include full tuition support for university students, living-expense scholarships for undergraduate students, scholarships for North Korean-born university students, and living-expense scholarships for graduate students. Eligible groups include academically excellent or exemplary students with financial need, low-income students from broken or multicultural families, North Korean refugee students enrolled at domestic universities, low-income graduate students, multicultural-family graduate students, single-parent-family graduate students, and international students.

Yuhan Foundation Scholarship Coverage

This non-profit organization full tuition scholarship for international students covers the following:

  • Full tuition support for selected university students
  • Undergraduate living-expense support of KRW 3,000,000 twice per year, totaling KRW 6,000,000
  • KRW 5,000,000 per year for North Korean-born university students
  • Graduate living-expense support of KRW 5,000,000 twice per year, totaling KRW 10,000,000
  • Support for academic continuity and living stability

Yuhan Foundation Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Yuhan Foundation Scholarship, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants for the university tuition scholarship must be university students who need tuition support due to difficult family circumstances and are academically excellent or exemplary.
  • Applicants for the undergraduate living-expense scholarship must be university students who need financial support and are from broken or multicultural families with income in the 5th income quintile or below.
  • Applicants for the North Korean-born university student scholarship must be North Korean defectors enrolled at a domestic university in South Korea.
  • Applicants for the graduate living-expense scholarship must be graduate students from low-income families, multicultural families, single-parent families, or international student backgrounds.
