The ADB–Japan Scholarship Program was established with financing from the Government of Japan and is administered through the Asian Development Bank. It gives qualified citizens of eligible ADB developing member countries an opportunity to pursue approved master’s studies at designated institutions in Asia and the Pacific and other participating locations.

The program focuses on economics, business and management, science and technology, development-related studies, law and public policy. Scholars are expected to return to their home country after completing their studies and work there for at least two years so their knowledge and skills contribute to national development.

  • Not living or working outside the home country
  • Not already enrolled in a graduate degree program
