The Journey
My name is Irma Redzic, and I am originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany.
My interest in biotechnology developed from my fascination with understanding biological systems and exploring how scientific discoveries can be translated into solutions for human health. I chose this field because it combines fundamental biological research with practical applications, particularly in the development of innovative therapeutic approaches. Throughout my academic journey, I have been motivated by curiosity, a passion for research, and the desire to contribute to scientific progress.
DAAD Doctoral Scholarship Details
I have received DAAD funding for both my master’s and doctoral studies.
For my master’s degree, I was awarded the DAAD Scholarship – Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines, which fully funded my studies in Germany. With the support of this scholarship, I completed my master’s degree in Microbial and Plant Biotechnology at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau.
After completing my master’s degree, I received a DAAD Doctoral Scholarship, which is currently funding my PhD studies in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at Saarland University for the entire duration of my doctoral program.
Were You Offered Any Other Scholarships?
N/A. I did not apply for any other scholarships. The DAAD scholarships provided the funding opportunities that matched my academic goals.
Educational Background
I completed my bachelor’s degree in Genetics in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong foundation in molecular biology, genetics, and biotechnology. I graduated as the best student of my program.
After receiving the DAAD Scholarship – Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines, I continued my education in Germany and completed my master’s degree in Microbial and Plant Biotechnology at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. During my master’s studies, I gained extensive research experience and expanded my knowledge in biotechnology-related fields.
