Top Business Schools in Pakistan

1. Lahore University of Management Sciences

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a not-for-profit university. Its Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) offers undergraduate programs, MBA and Executive MBA programs, specialized master’s programs, and a Ph.D. in Management.

SDSB is Pakistan’s first business school to achieve accreditation from AACSB International. Applicants should use the school’s official program pages to identify the program that matches their goals.

2. Institute of Business Management

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) began as the College of Business Management (CBM) in 1995 and became a university in 1998 after receiving its charter from the Sindh Provincial Assembly.

3. University of Management and Technology Lahore

The University of Management and Technology’s Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) has a history of more than three decades. Its official program pages list undergraduate, graduate, post-ADP, and doctoral options.

4. University of the Punjab

Established in Lahore in 1882, the University of the Punjab describes itself as Pakistan’s largest and oldest seat of higher learning and as the first university established in a Muslim-majority area of the subcontinent.

Its Faculty of Business, Economics and Administrative Sciences includes the Institute of Business Administration, the School of Economics, the Department of Business Economics, the Institute of Business and Information Technology, and the Institute of Administrative Sciences. The faculty offers programs from undergraduate to postgraduate level, including Ph.D. options.

5. Institute of Business Administration Karachi

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi traces its roots to the Institute of Public and Business Administration, established in 1955. The School of Business Studies (SBS) was established in January 2021 as part of an academic restructuring.

SBS currently lists undergraduate programs such as the BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, and BS Business Analytics, as well as graduate programs including the MBA, Executive MBA, and several MS degrees. IBA’s current admissions schedule also lists a Ph.D. in Business Studies.

6. Lahore School of Economics

The Lahore School of Economics offers undergraduate business programs, MBA programs, graduate programs, an Executive MBA, and doctoral options.

Its official MBA page lists a 1.5-year MBA route for eligible business graduates and a 2-year MBA route for eligible non-business graduates. A minimum CGPA of 2.5 applies, and a 6–8-week internship or approved work experience is required for graduation from the MBA programs.

7. Institute of Business Administration Sukkur

Sukkur IBA University was established in 1994 and was initially affiliated with IBA Karachi. Its undergraduate business options include a four-year BBA with majors in Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Finance; a four-year BBA in Agribusiness; and BS Accounting and Finance.

Its Department of Business Administration also lists MBA, MS, and Ph.D. pathways. Fees vary by program. For example, the official BS Accounting and Finance page lists PKR 100,000 at admission and PKR 83,000 for subsequent semesters. Applicants should confirm the latest fee structure before applying.

8. Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar

The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) is a public-sector business school based in Peshawar. Its official program list includes undergraduate options such as the BBA, graduate options such as the MBA, and doctoral programs including a Ph.D. in Management.

For the MBA, the official page states that applicants need 16 years of bachelor’s or master’s education with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0, or 45% in an annual system, subject to the institute’s additional admissions requirements. 9. National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)

NUST Business School was established as the NUST Institute of Management Sciences in 1999 and was renamed NUST Business School in 2008.

10. Superior University Lahore

Superior’s journey began with the establishment of Superior College Lahore in 2000. The university’s official history states that Superior University was established in 2003.

The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences currently lists a Bachelor of Business Administration, MBA options, M.Phil. programs, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration, along with other business-related programs. The BBA is a four-year, full-time program with eight semesters and 124 credit hours.

Superior University states that applications are invited twice a year, during the fall and spring semesters. Applicants should confirm the current intake, campus availability, and fees before applying.
