I completed my Advanced Level studies back in 2024 at The School of St Jude in Tanzania, where I studied Physics, Geography, and Advanced Mathematics. I graduated with Division One, top distinction. Besides academics, I gained professional development through a community service year(Gap year) through the Beyond St Jude's program at the same institution.

How Did You Prepare to Apply to African Leadership College of Higher Education (ALCHE)?

I started researching universities early and looked for institutions that focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and social impact. I carefully reviewed application requirements and prepared my documents well before the deadlines.

I used university websites, Google, LinkedIn, YouTube, scholarship platforms, and social media. I also learned a lot by reading stories from previous scholarship recipients.

Did You Take Any Standardized Tests?

No. My application did not require any standardized tests because I had completed my previous education in English. But I’ve done Duolingo as a substitute in case any of the institutions would need one.

My experience has been exciting and challenging. I have learned through practical projects, worked with students from different African countries, and grown as both a leader and entrepreneur.

I would rate it 9 out of 10. The learning is practical, collaborative, and prepares students to solve real-world problems. Also, diversity makes it even more special, with students from more than 20 African countries, creating an environment of learning and networking.

The institution provides orientation, accommodation, academic support, career guidance, counselling, and many leadership opportunities. The community is welcoming and inclusive.

I plan to grow my social enterprise, WeAllCan Africa, while building a career that empowers young people through leadership, entrepreneurship, and education.

Would Potential Students Have Any Problems Not Knowing French or Mauritian Creole?

No. Since classes are taught in English, students can succeed academically. Learning basic French or Mauritian Creole is helpful for everyday life, but most people here understand English.

What Do You Think Made Your Application Stand Out?

I believe my application combined strong academics with consistent leadership and community impact. I shared genuine experiences instead of trying to impress with perfect answers.

What Would You Have Done Differently if You Were Going Through the Process Again?

I would have started earlier, applied to more universities, and sought even more feedback on my essays before submitting them.

What Advice Would You Give Those Looking to Apply for a Similar Scholarship?

Start early, research every opportunity carefully, and be yourself throughout the application process. Strong grades matter, but leadership, service, and authenticity can make your application memorable. Never give up after one rejection because the right opportunity may be waiting for your next application.
