Undergraduate Scholarships

1. Monash International Merit Scholarship

The Monash International Merit Scholarship is awarded to 31 high-achieving international students per year. This Monash University scholarship for international students is available for both commencing and current students except for MBBS and MD students who need to complete at least three semesters to be eligible. The candidate must submit an application form once he/she received a course offer from Monash. The application has six selection rounds with different deadlines set throughout the year. The applicant must have a minimum GWA of 85 to be part of the scholarship, and once granted, must maintain a 70% average or above. Selected applicants receive AUD 10,000 per year for the duration of the degree.

2. Sir John Monash Scholarships for Excellence 

Unlike the first scholarship, international students do not need to apply manually to the Sir John Monash Scholarships for Excellence. Students who applied to undergraduate courses through VTAC and have an ATAR of 98+ or equivalent will automatically qualify. Moreover, the student should also be in his/her current 12th year or International Baccalaureate in Australia. Each year, this Monash University scholarship for international students provides financial aid of AUD 10,000 per year to ten high-achieving students.

Graduate Scholarships

1. Monash International Tuition Scholarship

Students enrolling/enrolled in Research Doctorate and Research Masters degree are eligible for the Monash International Tuition Scholarships. This graduate scholarship at Monash for international students covers the course tuition fees per year and a one-time Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). The application has two rounds; the first one opens on the 1st of September and closes on the 31st of March. The second round starts on the 1st of April and ends on the 31st of August. Submission of applications for new and current students is through the school’s Application Portal.

2. Monash International Leadership Scholarship 

Monash International Leadership Scholarship accepts both undergraduate and graduate students. This Monash University scholarship for international students covers the entire tuition fees of the student and only has four slots per year. It also does not apply to students from Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine or Master of Business Administration (MBA); in Monash Pathway programs and transferee students from other Australian schools. The application has six rounds, to which students can start applying once they receive a course offer from Monash University.
