The cost of studying in the UK would probably vary based on the guidelines of the school and the degree program you will apply for, but here are some of the fees in the top UK universities to give you an idea.

The University of Oxford is part of the list of the top universities worldwide for different fields. International students are also called Overseas students, and they are not qualified for a tuition fee loan from the government. The annual fee for international students has a ranges from 27,840 pounds to 39,010 pounds.

The University of Cambridge is also recognized as a leading university internationally. For its international students, the tuition fees also vary depending on the program, but the range starts from around 23,340 pounds up to 60,942 pounds for Medical and Veterinary Science students.

As stated by the London School of Economics and Political Science, an estimated monthly budget of around 1,100 to 1,300 pounds may be enough for the living expenses in London of a student. However, it would still depend on your lifestyle.

For accommodations, some universities may provide residence halls which could cost you less than finding private housing. If ever you opt for private housing, there is an average of £500 for the monthly rent. The advantage of living in your university’s residence hall is that you can be within a walking distance. If travel is needed, there is public transport available. Students get discounts for both Tube and bus fares, as long as they present the cards required. The monthly food expenses are roughly calculated to be around £50 to £300. It just depends on the preference of the student.

2. Cost of Living in Edinburgh

The city of Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, and it has placed high in ranking for the student experience. Some factors include the affordability, opportunities, and living atmosphere. In an article by the University of Edinburgh, they have estimated an annual cost of living of £8500 to £11000 in Edinburgh.

It is best to check if your university offers accommodations for its students. For private housing, there is a range of £700 to £1000 for a single-bedroom apartment in the city center. Transportation costs may also vary on your lifestyle, but a one-way ticket usually costs £1.80, and a taxi ride has an initial start of £3. For your food expenses, it could also be around £70 to £300 monthly, depending on your taste.

Manchester is among the cities in Europe which has the biggest population of students. This is also the home of one of the highly-ranked universities in the world which is the University of Manchester. When it comes to living expenses, the city is said to be one of the more affordable places in the UK for students. There is an estimate of around £900 to £1300 for the monthly cost of living for students in Manchester.

The monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment within the center of the city is around £500 to £1000. As a student, public transportation would be beneficial for you in traveling around the city. A one-way trip would cost you £2.50, and there is a monthly estimate of £65 to £150 for your travel expenses. The cost for groceries and meals would vary, but it could be expected to be around £160 to £250 in a month.

The monthly travel has a range of £65 to £70, given that the bus, underground, or taxis are taken. It is in food expenses that there would be a great variation depending on the lifestyle of the student, but there is an estimate of £130 to £200 if you would know how to budget. Meals in more affordable restaurants range from £10 to £20, while those that are more expensive may cost you between £40 to £75.

5. Cost of Living in Coventry

The city of Coventry is part of England, ad it has been placed among the top cities in the UK for students. When it comes to your accommodation on living in Coventry, there is an estimated expense from £400 to £600 monthly pay for university residence halls and it includes the bills already. If you choose to live in private housing, the monthly rent could be £320 to £530, but it does not include the bills yet. You will also have to consider the type of housing and the location, which could affect the price of the rent. The monthly cost of transport could be £30 to £70, but the average monthly cost for a student bus pass is £32. The monthly food expenses may range from £160£ to £200, depending on how you would plan it. Aside from these, you will also have to think of other factors, such as your necessities and expenses for leisure.
