The OAS undergraduate scholarship program is limited to citizens or permanent residents of OAS member states in the English-speaking Caribbean and Suriname. It may support full-time study at a university in Argentina, provided Argentina is not the applicant’s sponsoring country.
Applicants must have completed the first two years of an undergraduate degree or hold an associate degree. They must also possess the required language proficiency, meet the university’s minimum GPA standard, and be in sufficiently good physical and mental health to complete the program. The scholarship may be awarded for a minimum of one academic year and a maximum of two academic years.

This OAS scholarship is available to citizens or permanent residents of an OAS member state who wish to pursue eligible graduate study or research. It may support full-time study in Argentina when Argentina is not the applicant’s sponsoring country. Studies in the medical sciences and programs focused on learning a new language are excluded.
The scholarship is awarded for a minimum of one academic year and a maximum of two academic years. It provides complementary funding of up to US$10,000 per academic year and may cover tuition and mandatory fees, health insurance, a monthly subsistence allowance, round-trip airfare, and a yearly book allowance. It is not intended to cover all study and living expenses.
Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree by the time they apply, meet the university’s minimum GPA requirement, possess the necessary language proficiency, and be in sufficiently good physical and mental health to complete the program. Researchers planning to conduct community forestry research in Argentina may be eligible for the Kleinhans Fellowship. Researchers of any nationality or country of residence may apply, but the proposed research must be conducted in Latin America.
Applicants must be working toward a graduate degree in forestry, ecology, botany, environmental science, or an appropriately related field. Doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers are preferred, although relevant professional experience may be accepted in place of a higher-level degree.
The fellowship provides a research grant of US$20,000 per year for two years. It does not subsidize academic tuition or fees and does not cover transport vehicles or equipment considered unnecessary or unreasonable.
Application requirements include a curriculum vitae or resume, two letters of recommendation, and a list of the applicant’s past, current, and potential funding sources. Applicants must also submit a research proposal of no more than seven typed pages and a proposed budget. Applications may be submitted in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
The Kleinhans Fellowship supports research addressing the following topics:

At the end of the fellowship, the fellow must participate in a workshop with community members and regional Rainforest Alliance staff to share the research results and discuss their implications.
