Top Law Schools in Greece
1. National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens was officially founded on April 14, 1837. According to the university, it was the first university in Greece, the Balkan Peninsula, and the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The university reports more than 68,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across 43 departments distributed among nine schools. Its School of Law offers undergraduate studies, 11 master’s programs, and a doctoral studies program. Two of the master’s programs are conducted in English.
The undergraduate law curriculum requires students to pass 41 courses, including 31 mandatory courses and 10 elective courses. The doctoral studies program is designed to promote original legal research. The School of Law also lists Erasmus opportunities and the European Law School Network among its international activities.
2. Queen Mary University of London – Greece
The Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is based in London. QMUL states that it has five campuses in London and international sites in China, Malta, and Paris. Its Greece webpage provides country-specific entry requirements for students applying with Greek qualifications; it does not describe a campus in Greece.
QMUL’s School of Law offers undergraduate LL.B. programs, including the four-year LL.B. in English and European Law. Because QMUL is not based in Greece, it should be treated as a separate international option rather than counted among Greek law schools.
3. Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was founded in 1925. Its School of Law was founded in autumn 1930 and commenced operations during the 1930–1931 academic year.
The university’s Faculty of Law webpage states that its postgraduate studies department was founded in 1962 and that postgraduate courses have been offered since 1963. The School of Law also offers an English-taught, one-year LL.M. focusing on business and economic law from an EU-law perspective.
The faculty has also participated in European exchange programs involving student and staff mobility.
4. Democritus University of Thrace

Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) is a polycentric regional university with administrative headquarters in Komotini. Its services operate across Alexandroupolis, Didymoteicho, Orestiada, Komotini, Xanthi, Drama, and Kavala.
DUTH currently comprises 10 schools and 28 departments. Its School of Law includes the Department of Law.
The Department of Law was founded and became operational in 1974. The undergraduate law program lasts four academic years, or eight semesters, and includes 50 courses: 44 compulsory modules and six compulsory on-demand modules. The department also offers master’s programs in specialized fields and doctoral studies.
5. International Hellenic University

The International Hellenic University (IHU) was initially established under Law No. 3391/2005 and re-established under Law No. 4610/2019. According to its University Center of International Programmes of Studies webpage, IHU is based in Thessaloniki, comprises eight schools and 25 departments, and is located in Thessaloniki, Serres, Katerini, and Kilkis. The university states that it was Greece’s first public university where programs were taught exclusively in English.
The School of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Economics under the University Center of International Programmes of Studies offers the LL.M. in Transnational and European Commercial Law, Banking Law, Arbitration/Mediation. The courses are taught exclusively in English. The program currently runs for 1.5 years full-time or 2.5 years part-time in weekend distance-learning mode.
The program covers commercial law, banking law, and alternative dispute resolution in transnational, European, and international contexts.
