Young Scientist Scholarship Coverage

This fully funded scholarship for international students covers the following:

  • Waivers for application fees, tuition fees, and admission fees
  • Monthly stipend worth 500,000 KRW or above

Young Scientist Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Students with CGPA of 80 or above on the percentile scale
  • Students with language proficiency scores of TOPIK Level 4, TOEFL IBT 71, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TOEIC 800, TEPS 600 or higher

Remember to apply for admission to Chung-Ang University first before applying for Young Scientist Scholarship. You can visit the official website found in Chung-Ang University Admissions Section to see the admissions application process.

Young Scientist Scholarship Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Young Scientist Scholarship. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

  • CAYSS Pledge
  • Online application form
  • Statement of financial resources
  • Recommendation letter from a Chung-Ang University faculty member

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

  1. Look for faculty members from the Chung-Ang University Graduate School who can potentially be your academic advisor.
  2. Contact them through email and ask if they can accept you as a CAYSS scholar.
  3. Provide your academic background and as much relevant information as possible.
  4. If you are accepted, the faculty member will forward a recommendation letter to the CAU Office of International Affairs.
  5. Wait for an email from CAU Office of International Affairs containing an application form and a list of documents you are required to submit.
  6. Submit the online application.
  7. Send the required documents by post to the CAU Office of International Affairs.
  8. Attend the interview set by the university.
