This partially funded scholarship for international students covers the following:

• 180,000 yen per month as research incentive
• 300,000 yen per year for research expenses

Doctoral Support Programs Eligibility Criteria

• Living in Japan with a bank account
• Excellent researchers who want to focus on research
• Willing to help improve society through science and technology
• Not receiving salary, executive remuneration, or stable income of 2.4 million JPY year and above
• Not recipients of Tokyo Tech Fund Scholarship, Tokyo Tech Tsubame Scholarship for Doctoral Students, Cross the Border! Pioneering Doctoral Research Project, and other scholarships that do not allow funding from other sources

Doctoral Support Programs Application Process

A separate scholarship application – in addition to the university admission – is needed for Doctoral Support Programs. You’ll have to collect these requirements:

• Application registration form
• Master's degree transcript

Once you have those ready, follow these steps to submit your scholarship application and requirements:

1. Fill the application registration form.
2. Submit the master's degree transcript with the filled form.
3. Wait for selection results.

Doctoral Support Programs Deadlines

The great news is that there is no specific deadline to apply for Doctoral Support Programs! While there is no fixed deadline to apply, you do need to apply for Ph.D. admissions at Institute of Science Tokyo .
