At the graduate level, professors introduce foundational frameworks and many advanced concepts, but they give you full autonomy and expect you to drive your own learning, research, and problem-solving. Having prior field experience and a genuine passion for cybersecurity was crucial for me. Without deep conviction, dedication, and long hours of independent and group study, the coursework can be very challenging. However, for those willing to put in the work and step outside their comfort zone, the depth of knowledge and applied skills gained are second to none.
