This includes a fully furnished residential college room, utility costs, free internet access, and 24-hour campus security. For postgraduate students, the UNE International Postgraduate Research Award (IPRA) provides full tuition coverage for up to three years for doctoral degrees and two years for research master’s degrees, along with an annual stipend of $29,863 and single standard overseas health insurance. Additionally, the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) International Stipend Scholarship offers partial funding for PhD students, including an annual tax-free stipend of AU$35,411 paid in fortnightly instalments for up to three years for doctoral degrees and two years for research master’s degrees.

UNE also participates in external scholarship programs to further assist international students. The Australia Awards Scholarships, funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, provide full funding for bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees. These scholarships cover tuition fees, a fortnightly contribution for basic living costs, health insurance, return economy airfare to and from Australia, a one-time payment to help cover initial expenses like accommodation, textbooks, and study materials, and fieldwork expenses for research students.
