Scholarships can be found across most study areas, generally including STEM and non-STEM fields, and can range from broad “international tuition reduction” scholarships to very specific, faculty/industry-funded awards.
Examples from scholarship recipients include engineering and medicine: Zulfiqar Ali pursued a PhD in Mining Geomechanics and highlights he graduated “with a distinction and the highest CGPA in my program,” while Dr. Avisak Bhattacharjee completed a PhD in Medicine and notes he was awarded the scholarship for his “colourful academic portfolio.”
Beyond those, University scholarships commonly apply to business (e.g., MBA and Adelaide Business School pathways), humanities, and other fields; some major awards state they are “available for study in any discipline (some exceptions apply).”
Medicine note (international students): International applicants can apply for medicine programs and there are also research (PhD) pathways in health/medicine; however, entry and scholarship competition can be intense. Dr. Avisak calls his HDR scholarship “an extremely competitive scholarship to achieve.”
