Old Dominion University (ODU), established in 1930, is a public research institution located in Norfolk, Virginia. The university offers a wide array of undergraduate and graduate programs, emphasizing innovation, research, and community engagement.​

To support its diverse student body, ODU provides several scholarships aimed at reducing financial barriers. The ISS Merit Scholarship offers partial funding to bachelor’s degree students, with awards of up to $16,000 annually, renewable for up to four years. For graduate students, ODU offers Graduate Assistantships, which provide full tuition coverage along with minimum stipends of $3,200 for the fall and spring semesters and a minimum of $2,500 for the summer semester, enabling master’s and PhD students to gain valuable teaching or research experience while pursuing their degrees.​
