This information is helpful, now how can i qualify for 100% scholarship and is the college offering job opportunities for needy students? I really need to upgrade my education to intenational standards, and I come from poor background. How will this great institutions fulfil my dream? Thanks

Hi, first of all, MIT does offer need-based scholarships to match your 100% demonstrated need for all students entering the institution. You just need to apply for financial aid when you apply in order to be eligible. The difficult part is getting into the institution in the first place since there are many highly qualified international students that apply to MIT all over the world. However, if you do get in, you should not have any problems paying for your education, no matter your financial background.

I will be happy if you can clarify the fully funded scholarship part. I’m in Ghana. How do I apply?

    • Hyun Lee October 4, 2023 at 1:13 pm - Reply

Hi, the application procedure for scholarships are different for undergraduate and graduate students. For undergraduate, the financial aid at MIT covers up to 100% of the demonstrated need that is shown through the financial aid document that you submit to MIT. So, it is up to fully funded scholarships. Regarding Master’s, the funding is different by department since the funding is decentralized at the graduate level. For Ph.D., almost all students are fully funded at MIT.

I am interested in the fully funded scholarship for master’s program. This is because I cannot afford to pay for my education in MIT. Kindly let me know on the procedure for application.

Hello, Master’s funding are extremely limited at MIT, and also, not many departments offer Master’s degree in the first place because MIT is a research institution. Most departments offer bachelor’s and Ph.D, and students, if they are interested, apply directly to Ph.D. after their undergraduate degree. On paper, there are fellowships and RA/TA available for Master’s, but again, it is extremely rare and you don’t apply for it yourself. You just apply for admissions and you are automatically considered if admitted. For admissions procedure, please see the Admissions Section.

Please Hyun I am very interested in doing a Ph.D. in related field and am looking for a scholarship since I am from Cameroon.

Hello for MIT Ph.D., they are fully funded. So, you just need to get accepted to a Ph.D. program, and they give you guaranteed funding. If you get the difficult part of getting accepted, the funding comes automatically.
