Swaleha J. Khowaja from Pakistan was selected for a fully funded fellowship at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore, where she completed specialized training in Global Mental Health in Asia with a focus on understanding mental health systems across the region. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Global Mental Health through the joint programme at King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, building on a background in psychology, psychosis research, DEI initiatives, telemedicine, and donor-funded mental health projects. She prepared for competitive opportunities by intentionally aligning her academic, professional, and research experience, achieving an IELTS band score of 8.0 through self-study, and developing a clear, impact-driven career vision focused on expanding equitable access to mental health care through technology.
